Important: Always download you CSV contacts file to your desktop before you do any sync.

This is important for 2 reasons.  The first is it serves as a backup file in case anything goes haywire. Secondly,  you should always download your CSV file and open it in Microsoft Excel in order to clean it up with respect to duplicate entries or misplaced data within columns before you do any syncs.  Saves a lot of time and hassle later.

Initial Blackberry setting change…

First. Go to your wireless device and click on your address book Icon.  Now click on the menu button(BB logo w/ 7 dots).

Then: Scroll down and Click Options/Click General Options/Change Allow Duplicate Names to No.

Setting up your Blackberry device is a snap. Follow this quick tutorial and you will be up and running in minutes.

Step 1. Check your Black berries OS to see what version it is by clicking on Options/Applications. You need to decide if it is 0-4.7 or 4.71 and higher.

Step 2. Download the Blackberry Sync here to your computer desktop(choose the the correct OS):

BB Sync OS 4.2.1 – 4.6 — Download

BB Sync OS 4.7 + — Download

Unzip the file on your desktop and all files to a folder; and copy the folder to your media disk (SD card) by connecting your computer to your Blackberry.

Step 3. On the BB open the media player app.

From the Menu select Explore.

Now browse to where you copied the folder on your media card.

Select the .JAD file and press the roller(there is only one). You will get a download dialog. Click the Set application permissions check and then install.

When complete you should be ready to go.

Now click on the new Icon found on your Blackberry’s home screen.

Click > Settings

Fill in the following Settings:

Server location: http://mail.realtiva.com/sync/default.aspx
Username:
username@realtiva.com
Password: Same one used to login to Realtiva.com

The other settings are for your preference.  Self explanatory.
